Beyond The Face X GABI
Gaby is one of those people you meet that instantly make you feel joy. We met a little while back, she makes a killer coffee at @subculturecoffeejupiter and always has a welcoming smile on her face.
We sat down one afternoon to chat about her life and love for music. Gaby is insanely talented, she is a singer, songwriter, artist on the rise. A Florida native that found herself living in Nashville for 3.5 years, pursuing her dreams, pouring out her soul, working hard to make it. She felt that she was exactly where she needed to be but as we all know, things don’t always go as planned. We sometimes have to alter our course, find a new path and adapt to the ever changing circumstances around us.
Gaby ended up coming back to Florida, it wasn’t at all what she wanted, she had to leave music city and the closeness she felt to her purpose to come back again and face very real, hard questions about her passion in life. Obstacles are difficult but most importantly a necessary part of the journey, on this new installment of Beyond The Face we will look into her story and explore where the path has taken her during the last several months. More to come on part two! Hope you join us on learning more about this lovely lady
Picking up where we left off on her last post. Gaby found herself back in south Florida due to a family emergency, living in her in-laws garage, this was the very definition of starting over. She couldn’t have felt further from Nashville but even through the hardship and change, her love for music never failed her. She continued to write, to perform, she recorded songs too. While she continued to keep her affinity for music as alive as she could, she also started to feel a bit isolated and even lost. Her new focus was to tend to her family, make a living, start over, to do things right, and even though both Gaby and her husband felt a pull to return home, she missed the creative energy that overflows in Nashville. It is and will always be a very special place for her.
When we sat down to chat, Gaby shared that she has big aspirations for her music but at the time she wasn’t feeling very confident on being able to achieve those things, you could sense a bit of doubt in her words, I think this came simply from a place of uncertainty. I learned during our chat that Gaby would like to song write with European artists, that’s where her favorite genre and musical vibe comes from. She would also love to have her music play in TV shows, and to start touring. I thought it was fantastic how her face lit up when talking about the things she wanted to accomplish, you can tell her love for music and creating runs deep. I think voicing the things we want, speaking them into the universe, are a necessary step to manifesting them. Gaby still resides in south Florida, there have been some great changes to her story since we sat down which I’ll share next! Watch out for the next and final chapter of Gaby’s story - Beyond The Face Project.
Things have changed for Gaby in the last six months. Thankfully the majority of the changes have been positive, she’s feeling empowered, more at ease and enjoying life with a new sense of calmness. Gaby and her husband were able to move into their own place, she has now started to record vocals from their apartment, it gives her so much more freedom to be creative when the words start flowing. Things have started to fall into place, it’s really amazing to see her doubt turn into action and to see her blossom as the great artist she is. Gaby shared that she is feeling grateful, is learning to be thankful for the little things, the small victories and trusting the path that she’s on. Of course at times uncertainty still sets in, I think it’s normal for all of us, it comes in waves but we must stay strong, keep the goal in mind and go after what we love. That’s exactly what she is doing.
A lot can change in a few months, I think the most important thing is having the right mindset, shifting to positivity and believing we can do anything, that’s half the battle! The coolest part of this final chapter is that Gaby has a new song coming out March 8th, we’re super excited to hear it, I have a great feeling that this is going to be a wonderful year of creating and we can’t wait to see what she does. I love seeing people do things with passion and purpose. I enjoyed connecting with her and seeing the transition happen from our initial conversation to now, this is what it’s all about. Thank you guys for following Gaby’s story for Beyond The Face. I will have another guest soon, wishing you all the courage and determination to follow your dreams.
